#41: ROGUE ONE

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, plus brief takes on Hell or High Water, Search Party, Manchester by the Sea, and The Neon Demon.

Paul and Elgin are now reviewing stuff on screens on a weekly-ish basis!

This time they review #RogueOne:

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (16:12), directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, and Mads Mikkelsen. How does this first “stand-alone” Star Wars flick stack up against the numbered episodes? Is the diversity of the casting truly meaningful?

In the lead-in free-for-all segment (04:25), we chit-chat about

  • Hell or High Water, starring Ben Foster, Chris Pine, and Jeff Bridges;
  • Search Party (TBS), starring Alia Shawkat;
  • Manchester by the Sea, starring Casey Affleck; and
  • The Neon Demon, starring Elle Fanning (with a shout-out for its score by Cliff Martinez).
